Project: Cultural Resources, Maintenance & Restoration Plan

The field investigation was completed in accordance with the Secretary of Interior's Standard and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation and the Virginia Department of Historic Resources' Guidelines for Conducting Archaeological Investigations. All recovered artifacts, field notes, photographs, and materials related to this project were prepared for curation.

 

The architectural assessment involved 6 original building comprising the Fort Norfolk and two later (newer) buildings  sited just outside the Fort Walls.

Property Data included:

       building area, height, year constructed; recent repairs and/or                  improvements; overall general description; architectural                          features/components; roofing; doors; windows; flooring; structural

       conditions-walls, foundations, etc.;

Developed Magnitude of Probable Cost for Maintenance & Restoration for each building individually.
